A downloadable game

Garfield's process of making a game was as hard for him as anyone to come up with a new game. He went through many starts to projects only to throw away the idea entirely just because the game would not be fun. There were occasions where he had to make a bad card to make the game work overall. However, he soon realized that bad cards are cards no one wants to play, thus ruining one main element in his game. Another obstacle was making the game to not have pay-to-win elements where someone could just go to the store and pay for all the good cards after enough packs were opened. This also helped shaped what kind of game he wanted to make in his head.  In his game, he wanted to have different color elements to give the game more of a challenging feeling and he had noticed that there wasn't any drawback to sticking to one color. So he decided to make spells that immobilize certain colors to give other colors advantages and vice versa. These types of challenges came along when we had to make our game. For starters, we tried to make a game where the way to win was to draw 3 sixes and win. There were also special cards of course,  but it took to long to find the six cards and the game wasn't that much fun when it was just a game of luck. After that, we tried making our card game an UNO clone but we felt it was too on the nose. So we went back to our old idea and got to make the game we wanted to all along with new rules and better ways to play.  With Altice's chapter, it helped our group with many different design elements from past card games. There were many different design structures of certain card games that helped guide our game and many others that were described in the reading. It went into detail about what it meant for card games to be uniform and how they can also be oridinal. It was also a giant history lesson of the card games that were made in the past and how the rules for some of those are still being implemented into newer card games today. Overall, the process of making a new card game that no one has come up with before is one that takes much dedication.
